Clinical Effect of Ketoprofen plaster(Ketotop^(®)) in Patients with Degenerative Arthritis

Abstract
|
|
|
We reviewed the efficacy of Ketotope plaster in 28 patients over 40 years of age who visited our hospital from April 1995 to June 1995. They suffered from mild or moderate degenerative arthritis of the knee joint.
These patients were asked if they have pain, articular exudate or tenderness. Radiologic and laboratory studies were done before the application of Ketotope plaster and 2nd, 4, 6 8th weeks after the application
We could observe improvement in clinical symptoms and in laboratory exams of ESR and CRP. But radio logic findings showed no significant changes.
As complications, one patient complained of pruritus and three patients showed skin eruption. However the complicated symptoms improved normally after cessation of the application. There was no complications such as GI trouble, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia
In conclusion, Ketotop® plaster is thought to be effective in patients with mild or moderate degenerative arthritis of the knee joint.
It would be more effective especially in patients with GI trouble.
